The World Health Organissation estimates that we have 325 days of sunshine a year in the Valencian region.

July and August can be extremely hot and there can be forest fires (it is against the law to throw cigarettes out of your car window). The Guardia Civil can impose a hefty fine if you are caught. If you walk in the summer, you should start very early in the morning, aiming to finish at lunchtime.

Like the UK the weather can be unpredictable with odd days when you will get showers and in the winter it may rain for a day or two with intervals in between. If you are keen walkers, this won't stop you walking but mist can come down on the mountains: we would therefore recommend lower ground walking or alternatives like sight seeking or a day in Valencia.
